“Qissa-e-loak” or lok kahani is an Urdu word for Folklore, also known as “oral traditional”. It is a description of culture, which has been passed down verbally from generation to generation. What inspire me to choose this as the base of my theme are its exquisite patterns which are beautiful and hard to replicate in its true self. Kashmiri embroidery is also known as kashida embroidery. Kashmiri fashion aesthetic together with modern trend can be a revolutionary approach to the western fashion industry. My aim is to reinvent western fashion using revolutionized Kashmiri embroidery techniques saturated with folk tradition and tales.
